There are quite a few of us spread about around Auckland. Hmmm from memory MrsJohnCusack was south but you never know. There are a few 'oldies' who have gone off the radar.

There is a thread in Meet ups (called Auckland meet up- sorry not to link am on phone with bad reception) There are a few recent immigrants on there who have met up a couple of times, including me. Or point her in my direction, I moved here a year ago and have 2 DS aged 3 and 1 and making friends slowly but happy to meet more!

marking my place here - I move to Auckland mid march with 4 wee boys. squifflybobs - which area do you live in if you don't mind me asking? I'm getting off a plane and having to choose very quickly in order to get DS1 into school and I don't know Auckland.

Hi there lollystix I live in Point Chevalier, sort of west central. As both mine are preschool I'm not that familiar with schools yet, but know the Point Chev and Westmere primaries near to us are supposed to be pretty good. As far as I know the eastern bays, and most of north shore are good for schools and nice places to live. I really like Mission bay/ st Heliers. The rentals market is quite tight, we are looking to move but struggling to find anywhere good that doesn't bankrupt us. I think our area is worst than most though, but near to DPs work so we want to stay locally...

There is a website www.schoolzones.co.nz which shows zoning for different schools and has latest school reports, but I've not found it v user friendly ( or maybe it's just me!). you might already know this but pretty much all rentals and house sales are listed on www.trademe.co.nz
