Internet shops in Australia (Melbourne)

My sister lives in Melbourne and I'm wanting to buy here a Christmas present without having to post it (I sent my nieces their presents and it cost $38 in post). My sister tells me that there are no online bookstores - is that really right?

I'm just aiming to send her something small to show her we're thinking of her - I have to admit I've no ideas what! She's asked me for a list of ideas, but not sent any yet.

Not in Oz but I love this site and they have lots of ideas and links to fab shops ....

For books, try fishpond, dymocks or the book depository (this last one isn't Australian but offers free international shipping on all books)

Book depository are great - very prompt, very good prices and free shipping. I used them all the time when we lived in Oz.

Great. I'll look at the book depository, fishpond and dymocks and check out the links. Thanks :)

Most Aus book chains sell online, but I don;t like their websites. Amazon UK is shipping for free at the mo (they do it as a special thing from time to time). Book Depository is good otherwise.
