When is the best time of year to buy flights back from Australia to UK?

We're thinking of going back next June or July. We don't have return tickets from when we flew over here.

Our Aussie relatives have done it around that time.

hmm, maybe not next June or July due to the Olympics in London. I was recently in a Flight Centre asking the very same question and the response was that many flights (Emirates/Singapore Airlines) are actually SOLD OUT! in June/July. The cheapest in May they could see for me was approx $1700 return.....their advice to me was as soon as you know when you want to go then book it (but they are travel agents so would say that!)...but given the circumstances of next year I plan to take that advice shortly!

Oh yes I forgot about the Olympics - thanks for reminding me!
