Argentina, anyone?

DP has been offered a job there and I'm freaking out trying to learn as much about the place as I can before we make the decision.

Are there any MNers from Argentina? Or even just visited it? What's it like? What's the weather like? The schools? The people? The food? Hospitals?

Any help would be greatly appreciated. TIA.

Me! Hello! How exciting! Did I reply to your posts about Apostilles?

Weather, hot in the summer, mild in the winter.
Schools - are you on an expat package? If so then there are some excellent international private schools. If not, then there are plenty of local private schools (in Spanish or bilingual).

Hospitals - again will you get insurance with the job? Some private schemes are expensive and excellent, also very good cheaper schemes - but if your DP is an employee his employer will have to provide insurance
People - lovely (I married one)
Food - bland. bring marmite.
Inflation - about 25% at the moment
Election - next week. Everyone is expecting a devaluation afterwards. Agree your salary in dollars not pesos.

www.baexpats.com is full of people arguing about peanut butter but you can also get lots of very good opinions there
