Is there a US mumsnet equivalent??

I'm trying to use urbanbaby to get the lowdown on parenting in NYC but it's a bit bonkers and I can't figure who's who on the thread. Is there anything more like mumsnet?

I've been in the East Coast for 3 years but haven't found a Mumsnet equivalent. As you say, couldn't work out Urbanbaby to any workable level (also, am in CT so not NYC enough). Let me know if you find somewhere - if not, Mumsnet Overseas forum does it in the meantime!

They're also really mean to each other on UB as well. Why aren't there any usernames!?

Hi, I am part of Mothers and More here in South Orange/ Maplewood, New Jersey. Wonderful group of lovely mothers. Message boards are more functional compared to mumsnet and a lot is based on parents seeking help with issues from breastfeeding to dealing with tantrums to stroppy teenagers. Also, some nice activites are organized such as, playgroups, 'stroller rollers' (a walking group) and the New Mother group which meets at a coffee shop.
