Sister moving to Dubai tomorrow- please help answer some of her last min questions :)

Hi everyone,

I'm posting on behalf of my sister and brother-in-law who are moving to Dubai tomorrow. They have a few questions I wondered if you knowledgable people might be able to help them with. :)

They obviously want to get the internet connected asap and wanted to know whether anyone could recommend any good/reliable companies that they should connect with.

They also want to know where the best (somewhere relatively cheap if poss) place to go to buy a TV is and also if anyone could recommend a good company to get an English speaking TV package.

Hope someone can help. I may be back with more questions if they can think of anything else.

In Dubai there are only two Internet providers etislat and du. Which one you get depends on where you live. Either way expect to pay more than double what you do now for very poor service as they have a monopoly on the Market. Carrfour is probably the best place for a cheap tv but electricals are not too bad overall in Dubai. For tv packages most people have show time which has lots of English channels including corrie and eastenders but don't expect great tv we spend most our time watching DVD boxsets
