English Language Preschools in Paris

I would be visiting Paris for some business work for a period of 6-7 months (July to December). I have a daughter who is 2.5 years old who understands English a bit but not French.

I wanted to know if it is possible to get admission in a preschool for short duration. If the admission is possible, then where can i find the names of such schools? Do you have any suggestions.

We might be staying somewhere close to La Defense. Do any of you know any schools nearby?

Schools are shut for July and August, Paris is pretty quiet, I doubt you are going to find much choice in English for a 2 year old, in French would be far easier.

There are English language and bilingual English / French schools in Paris, some part-subsidised and some completely private. You would need to research each one individually for cancellation clauses, as effectively you would probably have to enrol and then apply for withdrawal soon after, as your child would only be there 4 months from September to December. A french maternelle would be a far easier task to find, but not all french maternelles accept 2.5 year olds.

There are a few bilingual Montessori pre-schools in Paris, I would start research there.

Here's a bilingual maternelle not that far from la Defense which takes from 2.5 and only costs 450 euro per month. I found it by looking on this link... there are probably a few more nearby, just a matter of looking up the location of each school.

If you have a look at this site that should help.

Found this French Steiner school but with English page and a specific contact name for English speaking parents. It's part state funded, even cheaper than the Montessori, not far again from la Defense. I can't find anywhere saying it does not accept 2.5 year olds. Seems many of the English international schools start at 3 or 4, haven't found one yet for under 3s.

There is a "toute petite section" at the Petit Cours du Rocher (private maternelle) in the 17th that takes children from 2 years old - Petit Cours du Rocher teaches English and has an English teacher on site.

There is a nursery called Ursule & Zoe in the 17th that has a good reputation.
