my sister lives in LA and has had to replace her washer and drier, but can't figure out how to get rid of the old dead ones. she is very much on her own and not physically able. she has also recently suffered another bereavement so isn't thinking too straight.

We are in LA and I see signs for these folks everywhere. They take appliances - you call them and they give you a quotation. Or they can give you a quotation on site. They'll remove it and dispose of it properly.

Hope she is ok.
