Any Dutch MNetters? Near Amsterdam?

Am looking for a tyre garage in (or near) the ferry port Ijmuiden - close to Amsterdam.

Husband arrives in our 1973 MGB tomorrow morning and has a flat tyre. He thinks he can get off the ferry, but will have to find a garage soon after arrival.

This place seems pretty close to the port. I can phone and ask if the have the right sort, if that's any help. TBH they probably all speak english anyway.

Perfect!

That is brilliant, just off the ferry and he is there. Thank you so much, I googled for ages and could not work it out.

Well done Frank. I tried for ages but couldn't get my links to work. And your garage is closer than the one I found anyway. Good luck MmeLindt's DH Grin

Easiest is to c&p the whole URL and click the Convert links automatically under the box you type you're message in, for the 'tidy' way read the bit on links just below the button you click to post.

Thanks for trying, Oxocube. Hope he makes it. It has been a hard couple of days for us all trying to get to our holiday destination. Just want him here now.

I emailed the place in Ijmuiden and he got back to me to say that they have the tube - at 10.30 pm - that is customer service.

He did say that they are busy though, and that DH might have to wait but "the coffee is warm". :)

Dutch people are so friendly.

Oh, Mme, that's excellent!

Hope he's with you really soon. The weather's fantastic here at the moment, isn't just the week to choose to come.

Mme - next time I'll be on the ferry I'll be looking entirely differently at those snazzy cars (normally we look on in despair as they get stuck on the ramp or something) and wonder whether it's you or your DH Grin

Oriella
I think it will be the last time - but never say never.

Thanks all. They had to pump his tyre up on board the ferry as it was completely flat. Off the ferry, into the garage and they sorted him out. He had to wait a while but is now on his way. Or rather, stuck in the first traffic jam.

The Power of Mumsnet strikes again. :o

Great! Am pleased it all worked out. The weather is glorious here at the moment. Around 27 deg for the last few days and more of the same predicted Smile

Thanks Frank for the advice on the links Blush

it's beautiful here ATM isn't it! I live on the coast and I'm having real trouble staying away from the beach / out of the garden and actually getting the housework done. The sudden heatwave makes me feel like I'm on holiday Hmm

Toddler DC are loving it!

Hope you have a great holiday now DP's with you Mme.
