Las Vegas?

Anyone in Vegas or spent time living there? Would love to hear what it's like and ask some questions.

Well I never actually lived in Las Vegas but I visited many times. I live in California, but I am Italian.
Las Vegas is a weird place. If you stay away from the tourist area is actually pretty nice. My friend lives there with her kids and loves it. But the summers are long and very very hot. You just cannot stay outside. A lot of people do have swimming pools, but even the water gets too hot to be comfortable sometimes.
It's not expensive and it's not too big either so normal commute is 30min. We are in Los Angeles and most people commute for 1 hour.

thanks italianmom. yes, dh will commute to out of town about 30-40 mins. I am good in very hot and dry climates as I am originally from Australia, so I am looking forward to that change most of all (I am currently living in one of the wettest parts of the UK!). It is encouraging to know that your friend and her kids loves living there. I would prefer California, though!
