Hi

I'm about to move to Edmonton, Canada with my fiance and our todler. I'm a stay at home mum and am trying to find out what Canada's like. Has anyone been to/lived in Edmonton? What areas are best to live in with a family? What's the social scene like for families? Any other information would be greatly appreciated, e.g. weather, getting around, etc

Thank,
Mel

Hello!
Wikipedia has great article on Edmonton, or you can try www.edmonton.ca/
It is a great city, with lots to do : )
I am a Canadian, in Canada, but haven't lived in Alberta for about 30 years. I have a cousin who lives there with her 2 DC's (5&3) and really likes it : )
Most families are quite into outdoor activities. In the summer swimming, biking, quadding, hiking, camping, sort of stuff. In the winter, hockey, skiing, snow boarding, sledding, tobogganing, snow shoeing, skating, curling.
People here are friendly, laid back, and polite. Hockey is our national sport/religion and we take it seriously : )
