part-time work/tax in Germany

Hi There,

Quick question for those in the know about tax in Germany......

If I return to work part-time would I be taxed fully? I am at tax level 5 at the moment and Dh who is the only wage earner is at 3. We would keep him at that rate because he would earn a lot more than me, so just wondering if I would loose all my wages to tax.....

Depends how many hours you will be working and how much you want to earn.

If you stay under the threshold (I think it is about ?500) then you don't pay tax or health insurance.
