Anyone moved from the UK (London) to Mumbai?

We are considering moving. What are the schools like? Our DC's are currently 4 and 7. What's the cost of living like? How easy/hard is it make friends with other expats/locals?

DH would most likely get a transfer with his current employer, I am currently full time SAHM but would want to do some sort of job out there as DS has just started at school.

Also how hot does it get and what's it like during monsoon time?

I'm working as a teacher in Mumbai.

The school I am at is good and there quite a few others.

Cost of living is low. I've lived for three months on one months salary. I pay my nanny/maid for a six hour day 5.5 days a week about 100 pounds a month, and that is a good salary.

There are expat women's groups. I've not met anyone outside work but I have made no effort to. I am a single mum, with a toddler who works full time though. There are other teachers who live near me, who also have small children and I knew a couple of people from before I came here, so I do get to see people.

You would find it hard to get a paid job as visa restrictions are tough.

It gets very hot, today it was 35 degrees and it will get hotter. In the monsoon it's wet but that is over now.
