Anyone up for a Sydney meet up??

With the arrival of the first day of spring I'm suddenly feeling the urge to have another Sydney MN meet up. The last one was fun, although perhaps we could manage a turn out of more than three people this time Grin

So if anybody's interested maybe we could start thinking about date/time/venue?

16th is fine with me.

How about meeting at Opera Bar (on circular quay) at 1pm?

Last time we made badges with MN on so we could spot each other - we could do something similar this time. I'll be 36 weeks pg so probably quite easy to pick out from a crowd Grin

Hi All, Thanks for the link bunny:)

I am hoping to be sitting with my one week old (or older) baby on the 16th, but if i am not i will be there!

and more importantly a wine tour in a few months or so sounds fab! :)

sunnydelight · 20/09/2010 03:50

I can do the 16th. I love the idea of a Hunter meet up some time too!

thumbwitch · 20/09/2010 04:40

oo goody! I think the Opera Bar is a good idea, it worked really well last time.
chancewouldbe - you never know your luck, and if you feel up to it you can always bring the baby along with you :)

sunnydelight · 23/09/2010 06:45

I love the Opera Bar! Anyone else up for it?

Arfishy · 23/09/2010 06:50

Did somebody say Opera Bar??!

sunnydelight · 23/09/2010 07:41

Ha ha. Didn't you all get thrown out last time?

thumbwitch · 23/09/2010 11:22

you up for it, arfishy?
So - we're good for the 16th October - are we going for lunchtime again? Middayish?

bunnygirl80 · 24/09/2010 00:42

Looks like there'll be quite a few of us!

So, the plan so far is:

Opera Bar, 16th October, lunchtime (perhaps 12:30?)

Anyone got any good ideas for making sure we can spot each other on the day?

Fascinators in our hair? Grin
You'll be relatively easy to spot, bunny (plus I know what you look like already so that will help Wink)

Don't know tbh - probably a good idea to have a few mobile numbers shared between us, like before. If anyone wants mine, email me on thumbwitch at live dot co dot uk.

bunny, I'm pretty sure I've still got yours
and I definitely have abithormonal's (not that that will help if she can't make it).

thumbwitch · 24/09/2010 01:26

Just checked - definitely still got your mobile, Bunny (so long as you haven't changed it)

bunnygirl80 · 24/09/2010 01:46

Thumb- my number's still the same, and I've definitely still got yours.

I'm looking somewhat plumper than the last time you saw me Grin

  • oh yes!

(just found you on FB and sent you a Friend request, btw) :)

abithormonal · 24/09/2010 08:21

Thumb and Bunny, you both have my correct mobile no too, got your messages as I was wandering round the shop this morning. came on here several hours ago and ended up being dragged into the wedding gift thread, gah.

Bunny I think I was 38 weeks or was it 39 weeks preggers the last time and you didn't spot me!! The trouble is the bump is less visible when you're sat down, and there's no way you'll want to be standing up.

Not sure about availability on the 16th I know the sunday is hell but need to check with DH, I think we'll be heading to toronto on the long weekend at some time too, but things get organised and then I get told the plans so I'll double check, but are you around thumb?

I'm going to go to the baby and child show Friday 1 Oct if anyone wants to come with?

Thought on finding each other, everyone buys a packet of boursin and put it on the table in front of you, thumb will have to bring the french stick. then you're all ready for a picnic in the botanical gardens.

thumbwitch · 24/09/2010 08:31

Grin at packets of Boursin! Did I not tell you my good news on that front? I put in a note to my local Coles asking them to stock it to save me having to trek to Woolworths 20 minutes away - the very next week (honestly!) it was on the shelves. :)

I think we will be around over the long weekend - DH has next week off (not great timing because of it being school holidays but he really, really needed a holiday, poor man!) but we're only going to be away for the first 2-3 days, I think. So we should be here.

abithormonal · 25/09/2010 07:29

OK so I have managed to wangle a free ticket to the baby toddler show, anyone else want one? I'll have to let the girl know by evening tomorrow as she'll offer them to other people.

VFemme · 26/09/2010 05:49

Opera Bar?

Wine?

Yes please!

I'll try and bring my mumsnet lurker friend too...

bunnygirl80 · 26/09/2010 06:39

thumb I'd forgotten about your love of Boursin. I have such happy memories of wandering around the stinky cheese section of Coles trying not to be overcome by MS to buy Boursin for a random stranger off the internet Grin

abithormonal I've already got a ticket but thanks for the offer. I'm planning on heading there on the 1st, but am planning it as a military operation to get around and get everything I need. Will look out for you there though, perhaps we could grab a coffee?

MrsSdownunder · 26/09/2010 07:23

Planning on a trip to Syd after the school holidays, travelling down from the north coast.

chancewouldbeafinething · 27/09/2010 00:48

thumb if i am feeling like super mum i will do, i will try and get someone to drive me so i have a bit of help....but at this stage i am still here and very much pregnant

sunnydelight · 30/09/2010 06:13

Thought you'd disappeared into the bowels of Hornsby Westfield VFemme Grin

Astrophe · 30/09/2010 06:29

my folks are auctioning their house that day and I have to go give moral support...family home for 4 generations and all that shebang. But let me know next time!

VFemme · 01/10/2010 00:08

sunnydelight - I LIVE in that place :)

OK, so I've convinced my lurker friend to come too, so there should be quite a crowd!

Sorry you can't make it Astrophe, but it looks like you are required elsewhere. Are your folks downsizing?

bunnygirl80 · 01/10/2010 04:23

Looks like there should be a decent number of us. Am getting quite excited now!

chance if you have popped by then, you definitely need to bring the baby along. I'm sure I read somewhere that cuddling newborns can help induce labour, so I might be wanting to test the theory Grin

OP posts:
thumbwitch · 01/10/2010 13:34

oo am getting quite excited by it too!

Astrophe, shame you can't make it - that's quite an event though, auctioning off the family home. Quite sad?
