I live in Heerhugowaard, near Alkmaar.... anyone close by? I miss the "mum & baby" social community, it gets lonely here on my own all day while DH is at work!

I'm in Holland, but not particular close to you. Just saying hello as I didn't want you to go unanswered

Are you a SAHM? We're a rare breed over here, TBH I've still not found any "mum & baby" type stuff. There's the odd class but that's not really my bag. Have you tried asking for tips at the Consultatiebureau, if there's anything then they'll know about it.

Hello Fermina!!! nice to have a reply even if you're a long way away (although no where is really a long way away from anywhere in holland!)

I'm a SAHATM.... (stay at home at the minute mum). We're moving back to the UK next year so will go back to work then, DS will be 1 by then.

Feels like there's a lot more social stuff going on (coffee mornings and meet ups etc) for mums in the uk, my sister's always on about stuff in Bournemouth. I feel a bit left out here!

I'm off to the consultatiebureau on Thursday so I'll ask then, good idea!

How long have you been over here? Dutch hubby??

Lol. Indeed, everything is very close together, particularly in the Randstad. I'm on the other side of Amsterdam from you, on the coast - below Zandvoort and above Katwijk. Don't like to be more specific on-line.

I've been here almost 7 years and DP is Dutch. I also speak fluent Dutch, which helps. AFAIK there's quite a bit going on in Amsterdam in a more British "mum & Baby" stylee, but that's probably a bit far away to be practical for you.

Being stuck on your own in a foreign country with a tiny baby is no fun. I've got two DC, 2.8 and 14 months so no chance to get bored, for better or worse Biscuit

I live in Amsterdam but my "baby" is 19 now! ;)
