Good morning Pamela.
I hope you have had a better night.
The walk & Thai food sound amazing, you really are inspiring.

Pic from our recent weekend in the lakes to celebrate our 1st wedding anniversary. There was a tiny bit of blue sky. 😊

Morning Pamela, I hope you had a better sleep last night and that you have a good day today.

Kerr sounds like a diamond! It's so clear from your posts how much you love each other 💜❤️🧡

Mistymountain · 13/07/2023 09:00

So pleased you're feeling more comfortable. Part of it must be the relief of finally doing some active treatment rather than just feeling at the mercy of the cancer. I'm hoping they do find a rogue gene so that you have as many options as possible

Emiliagrey · 13/07/2023 09:07

Morning Pamela, so pleased to see your update today. I hope today is comfortable and you are able to rest and eat a little. X

Skyrmion · 13/07/2023 09:09

Good morning! Hopefully your night was a bit better, I was thinking of you and your lovely family. Your updates were a joy to read!
Here is Galway Bay, looked at from my garden at a place I used to live close to Kinvara - roses for you! 💕

Morning all. Well, I can report a better night last night. My favourite nurse was on - they are all fantastic, but Rita especially is my favourite Portuguese pocket rocket. She is so capable and reassuring and always seems to find a good combination of sleeping position, well bed and pillow position, tweaks to meds and is generally reassuring that she will make sure we get it right. I slept from around 12am - 4.30am which is a brilliant run for me. Pain a level 1 - 2 which was of great relief. Woke up quite awake at 4.30am and was awake until about 5.45am, but managed another wee dose until about 6.4am when I had to move was my upper back was starting and didn’t want it to get hold. Sometimes moving helps. So went to chair.
Kerr had such a restful sleep he is still dopey.

Have a 4 different sickness tablet regime I am now on for the next few days, so wrote out a regime or else it’s easy forget or take at wrong time. I am on high dex for another 3 days so may be a bit wired. I like it though. Ultimately very bad for you, but short term lift. Antibiotics, pregabalin , laxatives, provera, MST….. I’ll be a walking pharmacy leaving here. Should be discharged mid afternoon. Suddenly very sleepy so going to leave this here and get back later. Thanks for all the pics and wishes since last night. I’m glad you’re all here with me, I feel like you’re all my friends now! Love, hope and faith to all. Hope you find something beautiful during your day - look for it, it will be there. The sun has just come out and spread a beam of light into the room, I see so many small bits of nature that I wouldn’t have registered before.

Oh Pamela, how good to hear you had a better night and your lovely Kerr got a good rest too. Just to know your pain levels are better and that you have been able to sleep is so good.
Nature is a wonderful thing. I am a carer now so had to give up work. I have gone from busy to quite a solitary life. My dogs and our beautiful walks each day, seeing the gifts that nature brings us each day gives me such huge joy. I will see what beautiful thing I see today and send it to you. Sending you a big warm , wrap around hug and love ❤️

Pansypotter123 · 13/07/2023 09:41

So pleased your pain is under better control, a great relief for you and Kerr. You sound so much more positive and optimistic - We are all hoping the chemo starts taking hold of all those bad cells. Hope your day is comfortable and pain well-managed. xx

Cornishclio · 13/07/2023 10:02

Good morning Pamela and so pleased you had a decent run of sleep. Everything is easier if the night is not disturbed. You are such a brave trooper. Your family must be so proud of you. Fingers crossed you get discharged with a good pain management regime and you get to see Jacob and your mum soon. Hats off to Kerr too. A virtual hug to you both.

Pegsmum · 13/07/2023 10:09

watermeloncougar · 13/07/2023 10:15

Such a lovely update Pamela. I'm so glad the pain is now under control and it sounds like the docs are well ahead of the game now, arming you with plenty of anti sickness meds so that you're prepared. Rest up, and I hope things go smoothly for the rest of the day

LongTermLurker · 13/07/2023 10:15

So very glad you had a better night, and that you have a pocket rocket on your team 😁. I have very much been looking at life through a different lens since reading your threads. You're absolutely right about beauty being there when you look for it. It's quite breathtaking. Xx
