I'm sorry to hear you are going through a rough patch Pamela.
You are incredibly resilient, no doubt about it. Your husband and friend sound amazing too. Love that breakfast.
I have to say it's shocking the decision from your family to move your grannie to your home in NI, the timing can't be worse. And the way you try not to resent your family says a lot about you. You are amazing Pamela. ⚘
I am hoping you start feeling a bit better soon, I'm glad the pain during the night is not as bad as a few days ago. Sending love and hope ❤

heathspeedwell · 15/07/2023 18:17

Just checking in to say I think you are doing amazingly well. It's so like you to be thinking about other people when you are going through so much.

tiktokoclock · 15/07/2023 18:22

Your breakfast looks good - your friend sounds like an absolute cracker! Hope the rest of your day has been an easier one.

Hello beautiful Pamela. Checking back in as I couldn't post due to cataract surgery yesterday( miraculous!)
Glad to see you are in the hands of your loving friend now
I'm so sorry it's been rough, but your body has been chemically attacked and I do know things can feel worse. You are an absolute warrior and your fighting spirit is willing you on
Call in as much help medically as possible and do not for one second feel guilty about your family
Thinking of you always
Much love

Wishing you a peaceful night dear Pamela xxx

PhoenixIsFlying · 15/07/2023 21:35

Pamela my love, you are doing so well. Just take it little by little. Your body has had to cope with so many changes , it will take a while for it to adjust.
Sleep is so good, so am really pleased that you and Kerr are managing to get some more. It will really help.
I've been on steroids the last two months for my breathing. Initially, I was getting so tetchy and I am normally so placid but I was getting cross. This did start to subside however. Steroids can have quite an effect on you.
Sending all my love and hoping each day gets easier for you ❤️

Thinking of you Pamela. I'm glad your friend is providing such nutritional fare and I hope it's helping. I'll be hoping for a better night again for you tonight.

Your message about finding beauty in the every day inspired me to take some photos this week (something I've been too caught up in the humdrum to do recently) so I wanted to thank you. The thing I like most about photography is the moment before you take the photo, when you see something special. The hebes have been swarming with butterflies this year. I shall plant some more for next year as they obviously like it here and are doing a great job of feeding and sheltering our little friends in the garden.

Aw Pamela this is all so very hard. Your situation is exactly what district nurses are for, hope that has been sorted. Suspect we all need to lie down even thinking about you struggling down 3 flights of stairs and to the Health Centre for dressing changes. Could a physio come to the house and help with the fluid retention?

I would send Kerr in to bat for the team and be company for your friend when you need to be alone, as it sounds like you feel bad at not being your usual sparkly self, somehow you still very much are in the written word! Maybe you could email Jacob (and your friend!) as talking is so difficult, reviewing emails in the future is such a great way of remembering conversations that would otherwise be lost from recollection.

It's hard when improvement is so slow, you just want to fall asleep for 2 weeks and wake up feeling much better.

Hope today has been bearable and that you have managed to eat something. Sending love and the hope of a restful night xx

valadon68 · 15/07/2023 22:54

Hello lovely, just to say, if there was ever a time where you didn't have to earn your keep by being a perfect guest 24/7, it's now! So I hope you won't worry too much about doing what feels natural - your friend sounds like she would totally understand and I'm sure she's doing this with no expectations because there is already a rich history of you being a great friend for her. Will cross my fingers that the pain levels continue to get better, plus nausea etc.
Your motivation to put the family news behind you is very honourable - as is your ability to think of others when things are so tough for you.
