I'm currently, slowly, deep cleaning and clearing out a section of kitchen ready for moving soon ish (hopefully!). LL continues to be a dick 🤷‍♀️ , unsurprisingly.

I'm writing a nice little list of things I want to replace too - it's going to be long once I get round the whole house, but for now is nice and short. Some of it I've had since dd1 was small, so it has well and truly had it's use, and I'd like some nice, new, things to use 😊. I have visions of neutral ish decorating & swapping seasonal decor...y'know a la Instant Grammy (Instagram)...probably won't happen but we'll see.

@PrincessFluffyPants the anti sickness tabs are like magic, aren't they!? I don't often need them, but keep a couple handy in my purse and a box at home, just in case.

@EachandEveryone how was yesterday?

@Enigma53 how you doing?

EachandEveryone · 31/07/2025 14:36

They cancelled my scans at 730am on both days! They are Friday and Saturday now. I was really suffering with the runs so it’s probably just as well.

lucysmam · 01/08/2025 17:59

@EachandEveryone how was today's scan?

We've been out for dinner - I've bought a few Christmas bits & treated myself to a new spray and candle 🕯. May pour a glass of wine now 🍷

EachandEveryone · 01/08/2025 18:45

It was ok but I surprised myself by feeling quite nervous whilst I was there and the cannulation was fine but I felt like I’d had enough

sellotapechicken · 03/08/2025 01:41

@lucysmam If you message me on Facebook messenger and take photos of all the info you have been given I will force DH to either call you or send you the details of legal aid / solicitors who will help you at his recommendation. Are you in Yorkshire?

sellotapechicken · 03/08/2025 01:46

How is everyone ? Hubby and I are away with his family and we stayed in an absolutely beautiful hotel last night I will post it on the group. My Mum is looking after our dogs and sent me this photo of one of them covered in a seedfilled cobweb like a tiara

Yay! Another fortnightly blood test done earlier today and the hospital haven’t yet phoned back to say I’m in neutropenia which means I carry on with my third week, get in! I’m a little bit excited as this month should be the last of the fortnightly check ups and I will go on to monthly checks instead, which I know in the grand scheme of everything doesn’t mean much but it will make the logistics of travelling so much easier and I get to feel a bit more grown up unsupervised. Feeling okay, one arm is a little puffed up and feels heavy, so I’m keeping an eye on it. It did this last month in week 3 then settled itself back down again.

I have done nothing this weekend except supervise my husband as he emptied the pond so we could re-line it. Was expecting a huge rats nest or similar to be under the old liner and I had the dog ready to catch them as we lifted it, but nothing to show. Both me and the dog were disappointed.

Enigma53 · 04/08/2025 17:04

Got another week of shit ahead. Bloods and oncologist tomorrow. Chemo on Wednesday. Will feel like shit all weekend, scan next Monday, blood test next Tuesday, chemo next Wednesday, will feel like shit all weekend. Then scan results to tell me cancer is growing, breast cancer has probably reignited
( I’m convinced I’m breathless!) and so it goes on!

Quality of life to date: ZERO!

I’ll be thinking of you today. I will say your tolerance for side effects should be zero now. If you have any kind of symptom that is making you feel crap, immediately call either Hotel Christie or 111 sending you so much love

How is everyone doing ? Im still down south, husband is struggling with his family (we’re on holiday with them), we were told prior to going that his twin brother wanted us to baby sit and DH was not having it so he’s been busy with our other brother in law instead of doing anything with our nephews, it’s hard for him as the dad of the boys is his identical twin and our older nephew calls my husband ‘Uncle Daddy’ and he really struggles which I completely understand! Whereas I love our nephews so much. I am really sad we can’t have kids but I don’t want to dwell o it, I love being an auntie.

Ive had a bit of a shitty week where one of our closest for friends died out of the blue and it has really rocked my confidence. She’s always just been there through everything.

My first memory of her was meeting at the Christmas do when I was collecting a very drunk husband and she was there at the bar- the MD asked if anyone wanted a drink and she said ‘ are you paying mr dirkin? Ok I’ll have another bottle of red please and so will chickens ;
DH’ we were there for about another 3 hours And We had to get a taxi despite me driving to pick them up🤣

cancer is a cunt

GoldenDog1 · 05/08/2025 06:01

Morning everyone.
Sorry I've not posted for a while but just wanted to check in.

I'm doing okay. My energy levels are practically non existent at the moment.
This could be the cumulative effects of my chemo.
I've been on it 18 months now and I'm heading into the first round of cycle 21 today.
Or it could be my shit diet.

My next CT scan is due next Monday which is bringing me a lot of anxiety.

Anyway love to you all xxx

Hi everyone, I'm sat with my morning coffee waiting for my daughter to wake up and go bonkers opening birthday presents. 9 is a lovely age. I'm trying not to get maudlin wondering how many more of her birthdays I'll see.

I saw Book of Mormon at the theatre last night. Laughed like a drain, it was so entertaining and the actors so talented and the staging brilliant. I've seen quite a lot of theatre productions recently - reduced price tickets for being a wheelchair user makes it much more accessible.

Survived the storm!

Happiest of 9th birthdays to your dd @SewingBees 🥳. Is she up yet?

My two are still snoring 💤. Dd2 was still reading when I went to the loo at about half past 1!

I haven't been to the theatre in ages. We're waiting for tickets to be released to Sherlock, by the same company whose Dracula we saw earlier this year.

I'm almost finished decluttering and deep cleaning down here - pantry to do today. Been keeping busy with painting peg dolls too - plan to at least base coat Medieval people today. Had to order another box of 50 dolls last night though & could do with a nip to school for another bag of big ones at some point 🤔.

Someone at school suggested I have a stall at the Christmas fair so I may consider that. It just means having stock available & they're sometimes time consuming. I did a simple set of 11 dolls in about 3 hours yesterday - but they're all flat colours with little detail. Fancier ones take ages sometimes so I need to have a think about whether it's worth it & whether our parents would actually pay more than a quid each. The dolls are cheap enough.

Anyway, off to read back, have a good day all x

PrincessFluffyPants · 05/08/2025 11:42

@SewingBees I used to love birthdays when our boys were little, before I had them I worked for a while at Pizza Hut and would do all the kids birthday parties there, frantically blowing up 30 balloons in the 15 minutes between each booking and playing music on a tape machine, those were the days. Anyway, now the boys are all grown up and live miles away so we just bung ‘em a few quid in their bank accounts on the day and FaceTime. Definitely not the same! Hope your daughter has a fabulous day.

@Enigma53 another handhold for you, hope your scan goes well, that is all we can do isn’t is, keep taking the stuff they give us to try and get better and hope, hope, hope. Wish I had a magic wand for us all to make this bollocks go away, but sadly I haven’t invented one. But if I did it would 100% have a shed load of glitter and a few smoke machines for good effect.

EachandEveryone · 05/08/2025 14:06

I’m waiting in A and E the diarerra got too much last night and went everywhere so I’m in for bloods and steroids I just hope it doesn’t cancel the immunotherapy.

SewingBees · 05/08/2025 14:57

@GoldenDog1 21 rounds /18 months is brilliant. I hope your oncologist is shouting far and wide about that after the battle you had to go beyond the standard amount (8 was it?).

I'm with you on the low energy. I'm really really struggling with work and motivation. I would happily sit on the sofa all day every day if I could. I have more energy when my daughter's with me, but not a lot. I think it's as much mental tiredness as anything, constantly having to pick myself up and battle on. Do you have anything to look forward to? Opportunities to get out in the lovely countryside near you? Even looking at the sea through a car window may give you a little lift xx

Fuck. Lumpectomy friend has to go in for more surgery & lymph node removal the week after results day. Fuckity fuck. My other best friend's just rung to let me know while lumpectomy friend heads home to let her youngest know (18 the day after her op's scheduled for).

Fucking shitty fucking bollocks

Oh god that’s a nightmare amount of time. Have you had a blood test yet? Have you got a bowel infection maybe?

Enigma53 · 05/08/2025 20:23

@PrincessFluffyPants thanks for a much needed handhold. It’s all utter bollocks, shit and crap! Urghh!

A belated welcome to our group, but sorry you are here.

How are you today?

EachandEveryone · 05/08/2025 22:58

I’m just having an mri scan. Nothing is staying in me. I’m freezing. They said I’m dehydrated with mild kidney damage

Oh no.
Will the MRI show why you are having such awful diarrhoea? I expect they will keep you in and get you hooked up to some IV fluids?

Enigma53 · 06/08/2025 10:09

@EachandEveryone are you okay?
