Chronic heart failure and kidney failure

I'm very worried about my mum who has had CHF for a couple of years, since a couple of heart attacks. Her renal function has been a concern for a while (this is kidney failure associated with the heart failure) but seems to have plummeted recently with a couple of admissions for fluid imbalances. She's on restricted fluid intake at the moment. I know this is really not good but am wondering if anyone else has been through similar, what is likely to happen and I guess ultimately how much longer she could have.

On paper things look bad in terms of her heart function and kidney function but she's remained active in day to day life, she has a busy social life and is out most days, and has just been on holiday, she wouldn't in any way strike you as someone who is very ill except she gets episodes of breathlessness from time to time. So I don't know what to make of it, whether she is likely to suddenly decline or whether she will gradually slow down. Just feeling sad and worried.
