Hairloss through chemo

So I'm In new a cycle of chemo, which means my hair will fall out, I've lost it before and used wigs hats etc. Well my friend had her her cut recently and decided to drop off her hair to me to help me make a wig, but it's like a handful 😳😳
Not quite sure how to react 🤔🤐🧐😵.
Help!

I guess they meant well but surely they realise wigs need making properly etc
What are they thinking you can do with the hair , very strange
Hope your chemo goes as well as it can and my friend bought some hairband almost type hats to wear when she had chemo and found them warm in the winter in the house etc

I don't know what to suggest about the hair though , sorry

I lived in soft oversized beanies during chemo, two in a pack from Amazon. I’d sleep in them when it was cold. I’d have been flummoxed if someone turned up with actual hair though!

She tried to donate it to the salon but they told her they didn't collect hair for wigs.
I don't understand what im supposed to do with it or really what she intend me to do with it, she knows me quite well, or so I thougt, my 2 friends who know us both I chatted to about it thought very odd, I think knowing my other friends would not dream of turning up with bag of hair has me a little perplexed.
Think I might just leave it hanging up in it bag for now.

Did she bring a tube of super glue too?

very very odd thing to do. I couldn't even see that as' means well' it's just weird.

I Had to laugh when she'd gone tbh, It hasn't upset me and I suppose she thought it might come useful, she's not a daft person, but I agree I found it weird.
I'm not home tonight otherwise I'd post a pic lol and thank you for your kind words, I have Chemo in the morning, been on steroids last 2 days, hence being awake at this time. 😴😴

Jeez! I've lost mine twice through chemo and nobody ever did that! What does she think you're doing to do with it, stick it on?

If I remember rightly foxes hate human hair and if you shove it the opening of their den or burrow they will leave. So maybe you could get someone to shove it the local fox hole 🤣

Tell her the truth. It’s a lovely thought, but it’s not nearly enough. Also bloody expensive. Perhaps you could give her this website and her hair back and suggest she find a local hairdresser that donates hair to mop up oil spills instead.

Wow people so weird things when you have cancer don’t they … I also had an acquaintance offer me her hair to make a wig … I was also flummoxed

Throw it away (or put it in a foxhole; oil spill etc) & if she asks tell her the truth — that’s not how wigs are made!

When my hair dropped out after chemo I carried it around in a bag like Charlie Brown and his blanket. Seriously, it’s like I couldn’t get rid of it, I just periodically showed people in the house inside my bag with an incredulous cry of “look how much hair I have” 😱

It may be that the hair isn’t suitable for donation, but she should be able to find that out.
