My Mum used Nioxin at the recommendation of a hair loss specialist hairdresser. It definitely helped and her regrowth was fast, thick and healthy!

Thank you. I've read that Nioxin is only recommended for post-chemo though and not during?

I used Green People neutral/scent free shampoo and conditioner. I was prepared just to go for the chop/shave but my medical oncologist persuaded me to go cold cap. It adds hours to your chemo and for me didn't work so I went to the barber after chemo 3. Give it a try. I even had a Silk pillowcase but if it doesn't work let it go. There is something liberating about only having to wipe a soapy washcloth over your head to freshen up especially if hospitalised or Hickman line etc. There are great head coverings on-line to colour co-ordinate. Bamboo is soft as during the fall out faze your scalp is incredibly sensitive to touch. I couldn't wear a wig to start with. Regardless of cold cap you will lose eyebrows and lashes - get thee to Benefit or the like and treat yourself to their 4 in one eyebrow pen. Very small consolation I know but you will otherwise be beach body ready and your armpit/leg hair grows back very fine! Good luck to you or the relative/friend you are supporting.
