Heart valve replacement not taking and possible heart failtire

My mum is currently in hospital after having one heart valve replacement (mechanical) and another fixed. The mechanical replacement isn’t taking and she’s had to have 4 blood transfusions and numerous drips. She now has a meeting with the heart failure team tomorrow and I’m terrified 😞 does anyone know much about this/have any positive stories?

I'm sorry, no experience but bumping this for you.

I hope it is something they can help your Mum with and that she gets the best outcome.

My partner was diagnosed with heart failure around 8 years ago he's still going strong.

I realise you posted this a while ago so hopefully you’re still reading.

The term heart failure seems to conjure up death sentence, but:

Heart failure doesn’t necessarily mean the heart is failing. It is a catch-all term used to recognise the fact that the heart is not pumping as efficiently as it should be.

And the symptoms can vary widely. People can be in heart failure and live comparatively normal lives, where as for others they may be struggling.

If she has been referred to the heart failure team then that is a good thing because they can keep a closer eye on her symptoms and medications.

HTH.
