Hi there, I'm not sure if I'm posting in the right area, so happy to put it elsewhere if need be. My husband is about to undergo a stem cell transplant from his own cells.
He was diagnosed with Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma a year ago - has had 12 rounds of chemo and is potentially in remission now but we are still waiting for bone marrow biopsy to confirm this.
The consultant was concerned he may not produce enough stem cells for the harvest as his bone marrow is very "sensitive". He needs the transplant to consolidate the chemo, otherwise the lymphoma, which is very stubborn, can return very quickly. In this case, he will need a donor, but he has mixed parentage and no suitable siblings, so already been warned, this may be tricky to find a suitable donor.
I would like to try everything we can to help to mobilise his own stem cells and enhance his health between now and July when they want to do the harvest. It appears that hyperbaric oxygen therapy can help with this. Does anyone have any experience of this?
I'm also looking for recommendations of functional medicine doctors in London who can help with things like nutrition/ supplements to help detoxify etc. Would love some ideas if anyone knows of anyone good.
Thanks so much.
