DH diagnosed with pancreatic cancer

My DH has been in hospital three weeks as cannot keep food down. Mass detected, biopsy results given to me yesterday as Pancreatic cancer, tbh they have been following treatment with this assumption. Cannot tell me what stage, just that it hasn’t spread but inoperable atm as too near portal vein. He’s very weak, jaundiced, having stent put in today to try to help this. Then hopefully build up strength for chemo, to sharing tumour then op. Just wondered if anyone had any similar sort of experience as I feel a little lost and bemused.

I can't offer any useful advice, but just wanted to say I am thinking of you. The cancer support thread in the "general health" section is hugely supportive though - they may have experiences on there xx

Thats awful news for you both. Thinking of you.

I don't have specific pancreatic advice but bloodywhitecat is in a similar situation to you.

This waiting bit is by far the hardest part, once we knew what we were facing it became easier.

Come join us on the 'still the storm' thread. It's caregivers with their partners with cancer. A safe place to vent.

Thank you all. I will try to join the storm thread.
