My dad has been diagnosed with bowel and kidney cancer, with mets in his liver already. He has been quite weak, losing weight and has abdominal pain from the liver. We were told yesterday that chemo isn't an option as he is too poorly to be able to cope with it. He has been prescribed some steroids for now to try and make him more comfortable, but basically we are looking at palliative care only. He's 72.
Clutching at straws, I'm wondering if anyone has used anything else that would be considered as alternative I guess. I'm a vet nurse and so have a very science and evidence based outlook, but of course in desperation am willing to throw anything at him to try and keep him even a little bit longer. Has anyone any suggestions that might be worth a shot?
