Parkinsons meds with blood thinning meds

Hello
My MIL has Parkinson's at quite an advanced stage, she's had it for many years and takes medication for this.

she had a scan two weeks ago which showed she has 2 blood clots, so the doctors have prescribed blood thinning medication.

she was told she has to take it or risk a stroke, or worse, but when they asked the doctor how it may react with her Parkinsons medication, she was told she would have to speak to a Parkinson's specialist about this.

I find that unbelievable.

I'm wondering if anyone has experience in this specifically - she has said her physical movements and jerks have become worse since taking the blood thinners but is scared of not taking them. She has to take them for 6 months.

Any advice here or possible reassurance for her would be appreciated - not sure where to turn if the doctors can't provide answers.

thank you

Did she ask the PD team? Any interactions will depend entirely on which drugs she’s on.
