Vision loss - brain tumour- is it permanent?

Hi everyone,

Can anyone tell me if loss of vision due to pressure on optic nerve is permanent or can it be temp?

In my husband’s case, it was permanent. The optic nerve was damaged and couldn’t be repaired.

I think it depends on the type of vision loss. I have a pituitary adenoma which if it touches the chasm can affect peripheral vision. If that should happen surgery to remove it would rectify the problem. So I have to have regular vision field tests and MRI scan to monitor it.
