Just after some helpful words really.... My father-in-law has just suffered a major stroke (a day ago). We have been told that about two thirds of his left brain has been injured, affecting speech, movement... He is 78, my mother in law died six months ago. He was utterly devoted to her, nursed her for three months until she died at home. He was just starting to get involved in life again and make efforts to see people, travel, get around... and now this has happened. I can't comprehend it. Our family has been devastated by the loss of my mother-in-law, I'm not sure how we're all going to cope with this.
We've been told he is in a very serious condition and so can't rule out anything worse happening.
As a more personal complication, my daughter starts her GCSEs in a week, and has worked so hard. I don't feel that it is fair to tell her everything that is going on as it's sure to impact on her.
Life is so hard sometimes x
