Oesophageal cancer; anyone had FLOT chemotherapy?

DM has been diagnosed with stage 3 Oesophageal cancer and depending on whether they consider her fit enough to survive surgery will be having this before and after the op.

She is having the fitness tests and a Hickman line tomorrow but in the meantime has been booked to start FLOT next week.

It seems fairly new in the UK so am not finding much in the way of personal experiences online; can anyone give me an idea of what to expect so I can better support my mum through it better?

Or any stories of oesophogeal cancer at all really, obviously we know that the outcomes are particularly negative for this type but we're trying to stay positive... Confused

My mum has oesophageal cancer but sadly I think she's too weak for chemo and didn't respond well to radio. They said it was inoperable. All I can do is bump this thread for support as I have no advice.

Thank you 50shades. I'm very sorry to hear about your mum. It's a horrible illness Flowers
