Lump in breast

I found a lump on my left breast. I waited for my period. Period came and went and the lump stayed. I saw a GP and he referred me to the hospital, breast clinic.
The lump Is quite big, doesn't move much, is irregular. It is not painful at all. Also the nipple on same breast is itchy.
I am now waiting at the breast clinic for the checks.
I am anxious as we have family history of breast cancer appearing at the age I am at now.
Does anyone care to share experience?

Hugs to you right now, it's an anxious time.

I found a lump & was referred to breast clinic & I was diagnosed with breast cancer. I've had a mastectomy, chemo & radiotherapy & I'm taking tamoxifen for the next 10 years. But this may not be you & you have done the right thing getting it checked out.

Take a loved one or friend who can give you support at the appointment. Please post here and let me know how you get on x

Flowers for you. waiting is awful. I've been in your position 4 times and each time i think that this time it will be bad news but I've just got lumpy boobs. I get fibroadeanomas. The one I've got right now is huge but after having the first 2 removed they don't bother removing them anymore. I have regular check ups/annual mammograms.
I hope yours turns out to be innocent, remember most are. But if it's cancer it's very treatable. Best wishes

Nipple disappeared, went to clinic was mammoed and biopsied (take para before any mammo). Lump found. Then had to go for biopsy under mammogram which was the worst thing I had done to remove calcium thingies. Those not cancer. Lumpectomy and lymph node biopsy as day case. Unfortunately one margin not clear so another op, same again so another op, same so another op. Finally clear. Nork looks fine. Had radiotherapy. Skin held out fine. Lots of fatigue but now back to normal and on letrozole for yonks and calcium and vit D for bones. Have some chemo acid thing once every six months for bones (cancer leaches calcium out).

Feel fine. Could have done without six billion operations but staff were brill. Worst thing is waiting for your results.

Good luck. It may well be nothing.
