looks like DH has bowel cancer with secondaries in the liver, had a biopsy today surgeon told hime that diagnosis was a formality. DC's of 8 and 10, one with ASD, treatment plan being discussed next Thursday.

My father in law was given a very bleak diagnosis that sounds fairly similar... that was a few years ago now and hes surprised everyone and is lot more sprightly than me at 30 years younger!

Lizzylou · 25/11/2016 16:17

Oh Fanny, I am so sorry that you are all going through such a horrendous time. Sending lots of love to you all xxx

So sorry to read all this fivego, and hugs for the funeral today. A mutual friend pointed me this way and told me what was happening. I don't get on here very much these days but wanted to send love.

Hi..........so so sorry to read about your sister, oh poor you. How is your dh doing with the chemo? So hope you are feeling hopeful and coping, its sooooo hard isn't it? Much love xxx

ChippingInLovesWoollyHugs · 04/02/2017 08:22

I thought I'd pop over here rather than chat on the other thread. How is DH doing?

How are you?

FiveGoMadInDorset · 04/02/2017 08:46

Keeping positive, DH had his 6th round yesterday, he had scans after round 4 which shows the liver tumour is shrinking so we are heading to Southampton on Tuesday to see the liver surgeon as on paper DH is a good candidate for surgery. Practically all benefits have been applied for and only now waiting for tax credits to be awarded, we willbe moving at some stage but not sure when, only last years B&B books to do and then that's all closed. Sadly my friend has been diagnosed with bowel cancer this week, a woolly hug has been requested for her.

Knitting is keeping me sane

Whats a wooly hug? Sounds nice!

AnnieNeedsAMacBook · 04/02/2017 11:23

triplets. Woolly Hugs are amazing. Take a look Here

ChippingInLovesWoollyHugs · 04/02/2017 11:33

Five. Shrinking is good, very good. I'll be thinking of you on Tuesday (well, every day, but Tuesday with extra 'good news' vibes!).

Are you missing doing the B&B or happy that it's nearly wrapped up? A bit of both maybe.

Will you be able to move quite local to where you are or are you planning to move away?

How are the kids doing?

It's all so bloody unbelievable isn't it, you've had one person after the other, it's not bloody fair 😢💐

I'm going to try crocheting a flower later, IF I manage it, I'll make a square with some flowers on for your friend (I'm sure K&P will ear mark one for her).

FiveGoMadInDorset · 04/02/2017 13:44

Definitely not missing the B&B, children are OK, DS is 8 and so a bit young, just knows Dad goes into hospital every three weeks for treatment, DD is 11 but is on the spectrum and tends to be very insular. Not moving far, my family own land and property so we will just move from this large house to a smaller one which will be in the village so walking distance to th ePub, friends and sister and work which will be lovely, just a bit further from the sea, just need a field for the sheep.

Sending love to you all, and good luck for the possible op Flowers

GinAndTunic · 04/02/2017 14:30

Best thoughts to you and your family, OP.

ChippingInLovesWoollyHugs · 05/02/2017 06:30

That's good about the B&B. I couldn't do it - I'm just not cut out for it! All that cooking breakfast & being nice to the fussy sods, no thanks 😁

I hope you enjoy living in the village, it sounds really lovely. Especially being able to walk to the pub!

You definitely need a field for the sheep - they poop too much to be in the living room 😁

triplets · 06/02/2017 22:10

Just thinking of you and hoping for a positive meeting tomorrow, much love xxx

Badders123 · 07/02/2017 16:41

Wishing you good luck 💐

FiveGoMadInDorset · 17/02/2017 20:21

So last weeks appt was cancelled and rebooked for today, rocked on up at the required time with no appt booked, this is a 100 mile round trip! There is a plan which is good but as all best laid plans may not work, they basically want to grow DH's liver by blocking blood flow which will give them more percentage to work with, at the moment if they took all the cancerous stuff he would die, they would then take out the bowel tumour. Depending on how large the liver grows it will be done in one or two ops 6 weeks apart.

I had a melt down on my brother last week, we can't afford the council tax on our house, he is going to pay it until we move which will be at the latest May next year.

Jetcatblackcat · 18/02/2017 08:05

Flowers oh Five, your brother sounds wonderful!

I'm keeping you all in my thoughts, grrrr to the mix ups over the appointment- the last thing you need Sad

youarenotkiddingme · 18/02/2017 08:14

five Flowers have you looked to see if you are entitled to CT benefit? Some councils also will give grants for CT under certain circumstances.

FiveGoMadInDorset · 18/02/2017 11:52

I have but it will be a drop in the ocean and rather than struggle to pay bills if we move somewhere smaller and bills are smaller then at least we can save for trips with the children, we also don't need such a large rambling house now that we don't do B&B
