Freaking out a little bit, so need some advice please.
Yesterday I went to the doctors because I have developed a numb patch on my right outer thigh. Doctor examined me and said it was meralgia parasthetica and would most probably wear off in a few weeks.
He was a nice doctor, but a locum, so he didn't know anything about me. He asked me whether there was any history of multiple sclerosis in the family and I said no. Which is true.
What I didn't tell him (because I didn't think about it at the time) was that I have been tested for MS before. About 7 or 8 years ago I developed Trigeminal Neuralgia, which I still have off and on (mostly on) and I had two or three different MRI scans and a lumbar puncture, none of which showed anything. I have been mostly fine since then, apart from the TN which I have pretty much learned to live with.
I assumed that if I had had MS I would have had more symptoms than that over the last 7 years, but googled it anyway. I should say that I have been feeling generally crappy for most of this year, and this has been put down to a couple of things - possible virus, probable menopause etc. Mostly this is just small stuff - feel tired all the time, sometimes I can hardly drag myself out of bed (and have received my first ever written warning at work as a result). I have started to get blurred vision sometimes (not all the time), which I thought was maybe my age again, and a funny thing with my arm, which means that it aches really quickly - for example I have to put it down to rest it two or three times while I am putting my makeup on.
Today my face feels numb and tingly. I am sitting here trying to convince myself I am imagining it.
The doctor yesterday said to give it three weeks and go back if it hadn't improved. Do you think I should go back and talk to him again?
