I don't know how to help my wonderful friend

Her husband has terminal cancer. He's 48 . They have young children . It's early days in diagnosis and he won't ask how long he's got. I can't give too much away but I'm looking for advice on how I can support her. I live quite far away so can't physically be there. But she's my best mate and it hurts so much. Any practical suggestions gratefully received.this is truly awful

Sorry to hear this OP, what a horrible situation. My friend died recently, having been diagnosed earlier this year. I was too far away to be of regular practical help. I emailed her regularly, especially if she had an appointment or treatment, sent small gifts and visited when I could, checking first she was ok for me to come that day. I think I was someone she could vent to, someone she didn't have to be strong with or put a brave face on for.
