Spinal muscular atrophy

Hello,
I'm new to mumsnet but my baby who is 6 months old has spinal muscular atrophy type 1. He was diagnosed at 3 months.
We are trying incredibly hard to focus on all the joyful aspects of our situation, our baby is a smiley beautiful wonder :)
It's obviously incredibly difficult too.
I wondered if there were any other mums out there experiencing the same?
