Not sure why, my brother phoned me yesterday to tell me that our sister has secondary cancer, and had 12 months estimated. Finding it hard to comprehend. The hardest bit for me is that she will never be a Grandma when she is so amazing with children.

Was going to suggest to my DB that there is maybe somewhere that she would like to go go with her husband and boys ( both grown men) and that we could all contribute to but not sure.

Sorry rambling now, life is crap sometimes

Oh no Sad I'm so sorry. Nothing practical to say, although I think that's a lovely idea.

So sorry. So much to take in. Talk to her- think about special times and places. And seek support- hospices are amazing for living fully .

Thank you, she is a nurse who did respite which is so poignant. DB and sil going to see her on Sunday, out of all of us (7 kids) she was the really healthy one

so sorry to hear this, my dB had cancer for 15 months, he died 3 weeks ago, he made sure he had lots of fun in his last year, we went on a big family holiday to Florida, your sister will have her own dream destination, try to all go together if you can, we'll always have our memories of it, and so can you, its all about creating lasting memories now, even at the end tiny parts of each day can be cherished, try to stay upbeat , it really is all about the attitude. just having a cuppa and a laugh, its so precious, and now I'm on the other side I can see how fleeting the time was. xxx
