I love her so much. She is 59 and has advanced kidney cancer with lung, pelvic and spinal metasteses. The drug she's currently on has stopped working and she's had to move over the border to try to get a second line treatment via the Cancer Drugs Fund. I spoke to Macmillan about it a few days ago and was a bit taken aback by how short-lived the effects of the new drug are likely to be.
She is wonderful. She's always been so strong and capable; has common sense in spades and will go the extra mile to help anyone. I have no concept of life without her. It's unthinkable.
How must she feel knowing that she has no chance of a cure and that soon she will simply lose her life? It's all too much to comprehend.
