A long time lurker but am so chuffed you get to go home I had to post! Enjoy your familyThanks

biscuitsandbandages · 28/08/2014 22:50

Hi Jetcat :-)

Its weird. Im alternating between fitting straight back into mummy and supervising bathtime and feeling very happy and positive (5 out of 10 people get their lives back! No more leukaemia woo hoo!) To looking up woodland burial plots locally so I can write a list for dh and sobving uncontrollably when the kids are in bed. I dont want him to have any extra stress if the worst happens.

The baby is sneezing in her bed next to me. Please dont let me catch her cold. I cant quarantine myself from them and so far thank you God and my innate immune system I havent caught anything but I do worry. Her cold could put me in itu. Another week and my neutrophils will be stronger. I will get there.

Obstacles · 28/08/2014 23:02

So pleased to hear you are home. Fingers crossed you don't get baby's cold.

ArtisanBaps · 28/08/2014 23:25

Hi Biscuits,
Haven't posted for a while but you're in my thoughts every time I'm on Mumsnet a lot.
Brilliant news about coming home.
Keep going little neutrophils!

saffronwblue · 28/08/2014 23:58

Lovely news, biscuits. Enjoy the food and love at home.

DashingRedhead · 30/08/2014 08:05

Biscuits I'm so happy for you. You don't need to be told to enjoy every moment! I understand what you mean about the peaks and troughs.

Kundry, I'm surprised by what you say about Macmillan. There are 3 specialist Macmillan nurses in our haem/onc unit - one each for leukaemia, lymphoma and myeloma. They work with all the transplant units in coordinating the transplant, as well as with the consultants in the hospital here and are an absolute mine of useful information about all aspects of my leukaemia.

Swex · 30/08/2014 21:50

Evening biscuits. Hope the barrel is lovely. And that you didn't get the cold! Stay well and happy

EvianBaby · 31/08/2014 17:47

I just wanted to pop by and wish you a lovely time at home with your lovely family. Great for it to coincide with term starting etc. Take care and carry on getting stronger Smile

ProcessYellowC · 31/08/2014 20:41

Hi Biscuits, so good to hear you are home and hoping too that you don't catch baby's cold. Thinking of you and your crumbs Thanks

Only1scoop · 01/09/2014 08:39

Biscuits....long time lurker here....delighted for you to be home such great news Smile

allisgood1 · 01/09/2014 09:35

Hi biscuits. Happy you are home and hope you are feeling well Smile

olympicsrock · 02/09/2014 11:47

Hi Biscuits,
Haven't checked in for a little while and wanted to see how you are getting on. I often wonder how you are and whether the pesky neutrophils are climbing....So pleased to see that you are at home with Baby R and your boys. You are right to think that you can't quarantine yourself from your family. Remember as sometime who works in acute healthcare you have an amazing innate immune system as it has been exposed to millions of bugs over the years....
How are the name tapes going? I vote for folding the bigger one's tags over to be surname only as then they are ready to be handed down:-)

Brilliant news that you have a date for your transplant. I am really looking forward to popping in for a coffee when you do come over - it will be great to put a face to your posts after all these months.

I'm on nights this week and all my appraisal paperwork is due in tomorrow - I wonder why i remain so unbelievably last minute dot com! Make the most of the silver lining that you can avoid paperwork legitimately for once!

Sending a hug,
Olympics

biscuitsandbandages · 03/09/2014 11:07

I keep thinking of all the cpd I could do if I could be bothered. Funnily enough I cant :-)

Ive just taken my boys to school for ds2s first day. Bit of a risk as my neutrophils were still only 0.7 on monday... but worth it and im not going to stop grinning all day. So proud!

catsrus · 03/09/2014 12:12

aww first day - I've just waved off my middle baby (22) as she drives up the motorway taking her stuff back up to college .... I remember her first day at school - a lovely memory to make biscuits Grin

OrangeyTulips · 03/09/2014 12:55

glad you enjoyed your ds2s first day. my ds started last week - a real milestone. Smile Glad to hear you are doing well.

Aethelfleda · 03/09/2014 20:22

Glad to hear you got to DS2's first schoolday, how lovely!

And banish all thoughts of CPD, young lady. If you really must, write a patient's perspective short piece and send it to Pulse or The BMJ then claim 10 hrs for writing it (they often publish stuff like that, and then you will be extra famous...!)

biscuitsandbandages · 04/09/2014 10:48

Mmm chocolate chip!

At the transplant centre for more tests. Thought about writing but I wouldn't know when to stop! What specific point of this awfulness to write about?

OP posts:
OrangeyTulips · 04/09/2014 13:00

Don't know how long the tests will take so lobbing over mint viscount biscuits.Smile

Aethelfleda · 04/09/2014 14:44

How about.... Write about how frustrating it is not having wifi when physically in isolation, cos Skyping the kids and surfing t'internet are good for the soul and thus good for the neutrophils...don't do it now though, you have a million things to do already!

Hope the day is going well and you're back home very soon.

HypodeemicNerdle · 04/09/2014 19:29

Aww, I hope DS2 had a fabulous first day at school, my DC3 (last baby, sob) starts on Monday, she's going to be the youngest and probably the shortest but I think her feisty nature will help her through!

Lovely to hear that you were there, extra special moment for you all

biscuitsandbandages · 05/09/2014 20:18

Ds2 is loving school but has apparently told the childminder that im going to die.

No idea where he has got that from. He wont discuss it with me and I cant ask him directly or he might stop talking to her. I cant tell him I wont either but lots of reassurance tonight that the doctors are working really hard to make me better and I cant wait to be able to stay with him all tje time. "I know mum"
