Okay so first off, SCA means spinocerebellar ataxia... Spino= spinal cord
Cerebellar= cerebellum
Ataxia= loss of co-ordination in the muscles
I need some help. Should I put her on a special diet? Should I give her more calcium-filled foods? What is the average lifespan of a person with SCA? Need help please! Sad

I'm so sorry...I don't know anything about SCA, but didn't want your post to go unanswered.

I did google it for you, and it seems there are so very many different types of SCA - so impossible for anyone to answer your questions without knowing which type your little dd has been diagnosed with.

I wish you, and her, the very very best and hope you get some answers soon (her doctors must be able to provide you with information, societies for families with this diagnosis, support, etc - do ask them for some, you are entitled to support!).
