HNPCC endometrial cancer anyone?

I have a family history of hnpcc but have not had genetic screening myself. Most of the primary tumours in our family (DDad,DGF,DUncle, DDad's cousins) have been right sided colon cancers with most before the age of 40 but my aunt was diagnosed with primary endometrial cancer in her early 50s

I have had gynae issues and am due a 'red flag' cancer ultrasound on Wednesday. Gp examined me and found a lump she thought fibroids were most likely but I am shitting myself.

Please tell me that even given family history the chance of endometrial cancer at age 33 is totally miniscule.

Hospital has just phones to change my appointment from half five tonight to quarter to two this afternoon, saves me worrying all afternoon. Won't get any results today so its a waiting game.

Cheers guys. How cruel to get a mum of 3 to drink pints of fluid and then push about on her bladder without so much as a baby to look at on the screen :) I didn't wet myself on the table - result.

Drs appointment at ten past eight this morning. I am expecting a surgical referral either way. Just hope it is for the relatively speaking minor gynae issue I presented with rather than biopsy and hysterectomy for suspicious lumps(s).

Thanks everyone. Drs was not what I was expecting. I have a 'bulky ovary' which was probably what my own GP could feel. I also have an uneven thickening of the endometrium but with no defined fibroid. My GP was off today and the one I saw didn't want to make the next call not knowing my full history.

So I have to go back Tuesday to see my own GP. More waiting, which I am not good at.

I am guessing next stop biopsy but we'll see.

The waiting is horrible but try to keep your mind from wandering into "what if " territory . Will be thinking of you .

Appointment with my own GP at 9:50 this morning. Stupidly consulted Dr Google last night - never a wise move.

ooooioh smiley fail - for shame.

Dr not worried about endometrial thickening at all, bulky ovary needs a re-scan in 6 weeks and I have a referral for my original gynae issue. So positive all round.
