Prostate cancer - not treating with curative intent

My dad is 68 and has localised prostate cancer. His TNM is 2,0,0 and his Gleeson is 6. He's seen the uro-onc today who is advising hormone treatment. He's been refused surgery as he is obese and has type2 diabetes. His uro-onc also said that the quality of like after radical prostatectomy was very poor for about 6 months. My dad is relieved he doesn't have to "go under the knife" but I'm worried that there's no curative intent. I'm trying to persuade him to get a second opinion.
Does anyone have any thoughts?

He needs to get a second opinion - do you know his PSA ? Because he has several routes of treatment that would be curative, and hormone treatment is not by any means.
Is he very obese ? That might rule out external beam radiotherapy (depends on how obese), but he could still have brachytherapy.

He can ask to see a radiation oncologist for their opinion, or another urologist. Is he in the UK ?

His psa is 8, and the chap he saw last time for second opinion is Prof Davidson, who is a clinical oncologist. Yes he's v obese and they ruled out brachytherapy on that basis.

At a PSA of 8, he'd be ideal for seed brachy though (as long as they do single step, intraop planning imo) as it can all be done using ultrasound, so no issues with CT/MRI. I know people in the US treating patients who are over 300lb with it.
