Breast cancer

Wondering if anyone who has experienced this can describe the symptoms. I can't feel a lump, but one breast has been feeling noticeably 'different' for a couple of weeks. Do I need to get this checked out?

If you're worried then get it checked out. Much better to put your mind at rest than carry on worrying.

Can I ask how you're checking yourself and ask if you're checking right into your armpit?

I don't check (I know that's not good). I've just noticed that one breast feeling sort of stiff. I've felt for a lump, including in the armpit, but can't feel anything. All advice welcome!

I had a painful breast that turned into a painful lump. There was puckering on the skin when I raised my arm and the nipple had started to invert by the time I finally accepted this wasn't a simple problem. Turned out to be an aggressive cancer but even so it was caught before much spread -two lymph nodes infected and nothing further after 7 years .

Only a proper assessment carried out at a breast clinic will put your mind at rest though. Make an appointment asap and get the process started.

Good luck -most breast problems are not Cancer.

Thank you both. Went to see the nurse at my GP, who was less than helpful...think a breast clinic is the right answer, but I guess I need to get a referral... Back to the Surgery, will insist I see a doc this time!
