Sperm donor

Hi, we are a lesbian couple from Staffordshire looking to find a suitable sperm donor.

Can anyone point me in the right direction to find one?

hi there - the obvious answer is to go to a fertility clinic, though I know there are not many available donors.

Hi Lucy,

If you are looking for a known donor rather than going via a clinic then Rainbow Families (Gingerbeer) Forum has a really good thread with lots of websites where you can find donors.

we found ours on diybaby.com. If you go this route its important to have your wits about you and screen out the nutters / men looking for sex. Also insist on seeing proof of std status etc.

It worked well for us though. We posted a profile, sent a few messages to likely looking donors and 6 days later had met a great guy we were confident about.

It took only 10 weeks from our initial post on the site to getting pregnant and the result is sleeping on my chest at the moment!

we were very lucky but it can be done.

how do you know their std status paper work is real? and why do men do this for free?

Hi, not sure if you are still considering sperm donation? It is a minefield with lots of things to consider. Have you had a look at a site called Pride Angel? they have help and advice on this sort of thing and there are profiles of prospective donors that you can look at and contact. There are also forums so lots of people going through the samer thing as you. let me know how you get on. good luck.
