Any help would be great myself and partner have found out we are pregnant after home insemination with a donor we are not married as yet how do we go about getting her on the birth certificate and what steps do we need to take as we would like her to go on the certificate as soon as the baby is born.

Noooo. Oh OP…. Why wouldn’t you at least do a quick google before trying to get pregnant?

Unless it’s changed since I last looked into it the only way to be on the birth certificate is:
• be married/civil partnered at the time of conception
• use a registered clinic for conception

As it stands the other legal parent will be the sperm donor and the only way you can change that is through adoption. You’ve given this man so much power.

The only thing I can suggest is to get legal advice, I’m sorry.

well you can get married before the baby is due. You can also speak to a family law specialist. You need to, as i am not clear you have gone about this in such a way that the donor won't be able to claim parental rights.,
