We had a difficulty pregnancy with our son and it cost a lot and caused a great deal of upset. We were wondering if anyone had any advice on the adoption process as we are unfamiliar. Which adoption companies are gay friendly?

Sorry to hear you've been through a hard time. 10% of adoptions these days go to same-sex couples and the proportion is increasing all the time, so all adoption agencies should be very open to gay prospective adopters. If you contact your local authority they will put you in touch with their adoption team as a starting point. Check out the AdoptionUK.org.uk website for info about the process - it varies depending on where you are in the country. Normally around 6 months but obviously the pandemic is affecting things. And good luck!

Afternoon everyone,
my name is Bethel Gebreyohannes and I'm an undergrad student in Sheffield . I'm currently undergoing my thesis, it is about the experience of adoption through the eyes of ethnic minority parents and /or interracial families. I would just love to hear your take on the subject, if you are interested please do email me and I can offer more information. Here is my email: [email protected]
Would love to speak to you :)
