Hi there, my wife and I are trying to find out more info on getting pregnant. We live in Edinburgh and finding it tricky to know the best info on private fertility clinics etc.
Any mums in the area have experience on this?
Thanks

Hi there OP - hopefully someone will be along soon to offer advice but until then we're bumping your thread for you.

Best of luck with it all.

Hiya! Same 😊 we've opted to use a clinic in Copenhagen as it is seems significantly cheaper! PM if you'd like to chat more. We got tests done on nhs no problem so just the iui and spermicide to pay for.

Hello - you could try this Facebook group:

Hello!

Me and my fiancée are in Edinburgh and we’re currently going through GCRM fertility for our IUI treatment. They’re based in Glasgow with a satellite clinic at Nuffield health at New Mart in Edinburgh.

They have been absolutely fab so far and they have open evenings specifically for LGBT+ couples which they hold in Edinburgh.

If you need any more info on them (and pricing etc) feel free to message me :)

Hello! We're a pregnant couple and we're part of a small community group on Facebook (for Edinburgh lesbian mums and mums to be) where all the members share info relevant to getting pregnant etc. We sometimes have meet ups too. It can be challenging to figure out the right process for you and all the steps along the way! I'm happy to help so just PM me 😀

@Anahera11 sorry to jump in but would I be able to get details of that too? 😂 me and my fiancée are starting IUI next year through a clinic and it’d be great to meet like minded people!

Anahera11 · 12/11/2019 20:42

Hi @Acoleacole, I've just sent you a message 😊

thricewiser · 12/01/2020 09:10

@eatanazurecrayon - did this work out financially less?

eatanazurecrayon · 12/01/2020 11:40

@thricewiser we've just had our first iui. Including flights and hotel the cost was £1000 but only because we had to fly on the Saturday which is the only day you can't get a flight out of Edinburgh direct to Copenhagen. We also went a bit fancier with hotel. Cost otherwise would have been between £650-800. We bought our sperm from Cryos so that is separate since we wanted options but you can buy from the clinic for £250 each time. For us it is cheaper, yes. It also gave us so many more options.

Hi there

If you could send on any advice that would be great! Me and my wife are starting to speak about having a baby but we have no idea where to start!

mrsmw132 · 20/01/2023 20:08

Hi, we are also in Edinburgh.
We are trying to conceive baby 1 with NHS support. Wish us luck!

@Anahera11 is the Facebook group still active? My partner and I are expecting in October (we used GCRM) and are hoping to find an Edinburgh-based lgbt/lesbian mum group.
