Have just submitted manuscript to Jessica Kingsley Publishers: HOW TO TRANSFORM YOUR SCHOOL INTO AN LGBT+ FRIENDLY PLACE: A PRACTICAL GUIDE for nursery primary and secondary school teachers... any thoughts on how we as parents can get this sort of thing to be taken seriously in our kids' schools?

I have no advice but this would be fantastic My 5 year old daughter is trans and it took a lot of persistence to get the nursery to take it seriously and use her correct pronouns.

I think we should try to start helping teachers understand all things LGBT+ , for example, teaching them about LGBT history, different gender/sexual identities, etc.
That way, it can help them be more open minded and understanding to their LGBT students. I'm not exactly sure how that might be achieved, but I think it would be definitely a good start. Perhaps we could push for teachers to be trained specifically in this area?
