Anyone with a gay teenage daughter?

My DD is gay and I'm incredibly proud of her coming and sharing this information with me (and hubby).

It's sort of a question in that I'm wondering how others deal when others ask about their kids, i.e. do they have a girlfriend/boyfriend...do you reveal that they are in fact gay, or do you stay silent? I don't particularly feel it's for me to 'out' anyone, especially my own child but how do you deal with other people's notions that assume your child is straight?

Thanks

I tell people.

My dd is very open about it so I have followed her lead.

If she didn't want me to I obviously would not mention it.

I think that it's good for her to see I'm proud of her and don't see it as something to hide.

"She's being seeing someone for a while now. They seem nice"

Or "She's single at the minute".
