There's no one best way. Basically, your options are adoption, donor insemination through a clinic, or home insemination with a known donor (and varying degrees of involvement from none to co-parenting). All have pros and cons; none are straightforward or easy.

I've done the first and the third option, and have also worked in DI clinics. So happy to spout off on whatever you find interesting Smile

We're interested in adoption but at a later date, in the near future we would like to go down the insemination path, can u give me
The basics on home insemination plz, sorry I have no idea how to get into it x

I recommend having a read on

www.fertilityfriends.co.uk/forum/index.php?board=398.0
and
boards.gingerbeer.co.uk/index.php?board=15.0

where you will find lots of information on what the options are, how to go about it, the legalities and much more.

Good luck!

Hi Amynjanine, how exciting for you both!! When I was looking into I was a little overawed by the whole thing, the one thing that I did learn is that if you are going to use AI then you don't necessarily need to go through a clinic, I have included a link fro m Pride Angel on AI but they also have lots og other info on the whole process including ovulation and help and advice on donor agreements etc, hope this helps! prideangel.com/p120/fertility-pregnancy/Home-Insemination.aspx Let us know how you get on and what you decide, good luck xx

AmynJanine, Stonewall have also produced a guide to getting pregnant, I think - have a look on their website.

I'm happy to talk about any aspect of it, but not sure what you most need advice on. How to find a donor? How to pinpoint your fertile time? How to inseminate?

AmynJanine · 23/05/2012 20:43

Aww thank you for all your advice we r really clueless about where to begin we need advice on everything really especially where to find a sperm donor safely if anyone has any advice for us we would be really grateful x
