What do your children call you?

To those of you in same-sex partnerships and with children, can I please ask what your children call you?
Obviously in conventional families, children have a 'mummy' and a 'daddy', but how do they differentiate when both are mummies or both are daddies?

Apologies if this sounds like a strange question, but I am working on a children's book which will include lesbian and gay parents.

Mummy A and Mummy S after our first name initials. Ultimately they'll end up calling us whatever they choose!

like goalie - each of us is mummy, but if she needs to differentiate then mummy d (my first name) and mummy r (dp's first name) - this is just how it developed- I know of other lesbian families that use mama/mummy or various names for mummy

I'm interested in your book though! what age group is it aimed at? my dd is 3 and really there's very little out there - she likes to read Spacegirl Pukes when she is sad or sick, probably because she sees her family represented there :( - it's not a great book, but I like the way that the lesbian parents are not the direct focus of the story - I'd be happy to talk to you about this if it would be helpful - feel free to pm me (or not, as you wish!)

I am Mummy and DW is Mama. We both started off calling ourselves Mama but when DD started to talk she decided I was to be Mummy, and she tells people off if they call either of us the wrong name!

We have friends where one is Mum and the other is Mother :)

Hello, we say mummy s or mummy b or mummy and mama. but the children will eventually call us what ever suits them.

We have 2.5 year old twins, they call the bio-mom Mommy and the adoptive-mom Mama. This was nice when they were infants, because they said "mama" months before they said "mommy", so the adoptive-mom got special bonding moments early on when they said her name...

Hi, we say mum or mummy for both of interchangeably and will let DD call us what she likes when that time comes - be it mummy A mummy E, mum and mama etc

Mummy and mama. Works for us as my name ends in an 'ee' sound (I'm mummy) and my partners name ends in an 'a' (she's mama). Having said that ds is only 4 months so who knows what he'll actually call us!

Same with friends of ours, though their children sometimes use mummy interchangeably and clarify with 'no, not you, the other one'

We're Mummy and Mama too for now, but baba is only 11 weeks old, so who knows what will happen further down the line.
We used a known donor who is very much a part of the baby's life and he's Papa for now.

With my friends it's usually Mummy A and Mummy B. I'm hetero myself, but I think that's what I'd go with if DH was female!

I look after a gorgeous little boy who has 2 dads, Daddy & Dadda.

But whatever YOU decide for your babes they will sort out their own version, which is lovely!

I have friends who were Daddy and Papa when their DC were little; the DC when older switched to Dad and Pop.
