Pregnant through having ICSI

Hi,

I am gay and my partner and I have been trying for a baby for nearly 3 years and we are now finally pregnant through having ICSI.

I am so excited, but it is still early days as my partenr is only 6 and a half weeks pregnant, the baby is due around 15 December I think!

We are going to the clinic on 3 May for a scan to check the babies heart beat and to see how many little ones are there.

This is all so nerve racking, we have waited for such a long time for this to happen and I just hope that everything will be ok.

I just really wanted to know if there was anybody else out there who is going through the same feelings as is at a similar stage in pregnancy to us.

Look forward to hearing from you.

lumili well mega congratulations to you both! DP and I expecting baby no. 2 early December - home insemination with known donor. We have a DD who is 2.3 - but know how you feel. We had a miscarriage before DD so have been very cautious about leaping to conclusions. We have our scan tomorrow! I hope everything goes well - feel free to message me if you want to talk...

Remember that it's more likely to be ok than not: we've told no-one beyond immediate family in real life. Good luck!

Hi you two! Congratulations, thats brilliant. I felt exactley the same when I had all my babies (had 4 now) just take it easy and try and stay relaxed. i am sure the scan will make you feel better, and the reality will sink in!! Love to you both and baby too xx

Hi Drivingmisscrazy, how did your scan go yesterday? Hope all is well.
Wrighty2010 yes I can't wait for the scan on Tuesday and keep hoping that the baby will have a heartbeat!! I keep thinking about what xmas will be like with a little one and get so excited, but probably am getting ahead of myself.

lumili went very well, thanks - good strong regular heartbeat, measuring 9w1d, so a little ahead of our dates, which is a good sign. He/she wiggled legs at us - so starting to feel a bit more confident. Hope yours goes well next week :)

Hi

We went for our 7 and a half week scan and there was no heartbeat, I am so so gutted, I really thought we were going to be lucky. How do you get through something like this?
